Description
No. 18 is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 17th century, with a later 17th century bay added to the left. The building is constructed of coursed and uncoursed limestone rubble, featuring squared quoins on the right side. It has gabled stone slate roofs and an early 17th century end stack that has been converted into a central ridge stack, finished in brick. The layout originally extended to a two-unit plan. The house is two storeys tall and has a four-window range. The timber lintels above the 20th century door and windows have been renewed. The right gable wall includes a 17th century four-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window. At the rear right, there is a service bay from the 18th or early 19th century made from similar materials, along with a mid-20th century extension. Inside, there is a rough chamfered beam on the left and a stop-chamfered beam on the right. The first floor and attic have not been inspected but are likely to be of interest.
