Description

The property at 43 Leys Road, Cumnor, is a house dating to 1727, as indicated by the inscription on the front. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, colourwashed to the front, and has a gabled thatch roof. Brick stacks are located at each end, with the left stack brick and the right stack finished in brick. The house originally comprised two units and is arranged as a symmetrical two-window range with a single storey and attic. The front features chamfered timber lintels over a 20th-century door with a pediment hood, a 19th-century two-light casement window to the right, and a 20th-century casement window to the left. Two 19th-century two-light half-dormer casement windows are in the attic. A 20th-century rear wing has been added. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
