Description

This is an early 17th-century house located on Appleton Road in Cumnor. The house is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble with a gabled concrete tile roof and a stone end stack. Originally a one-unit plan, it has two storeys and a single-window range to the front. A timber lintel sits above a 20th-century door, which has a timber porch on the right side. The windows are 20th-century casements with chamfered ogee-stopped timber lintels. A rear outshut was heightened in the 1970s, and a 20th-century extension is present to the right. Inside, the ground floor features stop-chamfered beam and similar bressumer over an open fireplace. The first floor has an ogee-stopped chamfered beam and an old plank door.
