Description
Nos. 3 and 5 High Street is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. The building features roughcast over a timber-framed first floor that juts out over a ground floor made of limestone rubble. It has a gabled roof covered with old tiles, with brick stacks at the ends and an external stone stack on the left side. The structure has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a four-window range. There are timber lintels above two 20th-century doors, one of which has a porch, and late 19th-century or 20th-century casement windows. Inside, there are stop-chamfered lateral and transverse beams on the ground floor, and a four-bay queen-post roof that is partly visible. The cottage to the left has not been fully inspected.
