Description

This is a late 17th and early 18th century house, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is built of coursed limestone rubble with a gabled thatch roof and a stone end stack finished in brick. The original plan was a single unit. The house has one storey and an attic, originally featuring a single window. A stone outshut on the left has been remodelled as a 20th-century porch with a modern door and a concrete tile roof. A 20th-century two-light casement window is positioned to the right, and a 18th-century three-light leaded casement window is above and to the rear. Inside, there’s a stop-chamfered beam, an open fireplace with a reused timber lintel, an original bread-oven to the right, and a staircase to the left. The roof features a two-bay closed collar-truss. The building is included on the list for its group value.
