Description

This is a house located at 76 West End, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof with end stacks made of stone finished in brick. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a four-window range.

The front includes a 20th-century door that is topped by a 19th-century bracketed flat hood, and there are timber lintels over horned six-pane sash windows. The rear of the house has a central stair-turret projection and a late 18th-century two-storey wing, which also has an end stack finished in brick.

Inside, the house features chamfered beams and an open fireplace with a wooden bressumer in each room. There are winder stairs and a collar-truss roof supported by butt purlins.
