Description
Seldom Seen is a house dating from the 17th century, likely early in the period. It is constructed from uncoursed limestone rubble and features a gabled thatched roof. The house has a large external end stack made of stone that steps from the base, with a flue of dressed stone finished in brick and a tiled bread oven at the rear. There is also a right end stack made of stone finished in brick.
The building has a three-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a four-window range. The front includes a 20th-century door, a blocked door, and 20th-century casement windows, along with 20th-century dormer casements. There is a 20th-century bay window to the right, made from similar materials.
Inside, there is a stop-chamfered beam and bressumer over an open fireplace in the room to the left, and a chamfered beam and bressumer over an open fireplace in the room to the right. The roof features collar trusses and is steeply pitched.
