Description
Carpenters Cottage is a house dating from the mid-16th century, with later alterations. It features irregular timber-framing with some angle-bracing, brick infill in the lower panels, and rendered infill above. The roof is thatched and hipped to the right, with a brick stack at the left end and a ridge stack to the left of centre. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has a four-window range. There is a plank door to the left of centre, which is sheltered by a 20th-century open porch. The windows are mostly 20th-century casements with irregular placement. Additionally, there are two gabled dormers with old plain-tile roofs, each containing three-light casements. The interior has not been inspected.
