Description

This is a 17th-century house located on the north side of Faringdon Road, near Besselsleigh. The building is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble, with a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the right and gabled to the left, featuring an end stack finished in stone and brick. A more recent internal stack is located at the front. The house is one storey high with an attic and has a two-window front. A timber lintel sits above a late 19th-century plank door, which has a 20th-century porch. There are two- and four-light leaded casements, alongside 18th-century two- and three-light dormer casements with restored lights. A later one-storey range built of similar materials and with a half-hipped roof extends to the left. This range has a two-light leaded casement in its right gable wall. A 20th-century extension of matching materials has been added to the rear. Inside, the house features chamfered beams and a central open fireplace. The roof is a two-bay structure with substantial principal rafters.
