Description
This building is a barn and cart shed, located approximately 2 meters northwest of The Grange in East Hanney. It is likely from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations over time. The structure features a stone uncoursed rubble plinth and large timber-framing with weatherboarding, topped by a plain-tile roof added in the 20th century. The barn has four bays and includes a garage door positioned to the right of the center, along with irregularly placed 19th-century windows. The rear of the barn faces a garden, and the right portion was converted into a dwelling in the 19th century. Inside, there is a queen post roof with some wind-braces. The cart shed, located to the right, also has large timber-framing with weatherboarding and a thatched roof that is hipped to the right, featuring openings at the rear.
