Description

Chalk Stone House is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of chalk ashlar with brick quoins and features a tiled roof with brick stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and a contemporary outshot to the rear left. It is two stories high and has a three-window range. The central planked door is topped with timber lintels, and there are 20th-century casements. A brick storey band runs along the building, which has a gabled roof and end stacks. Inside, there is a wood bressumer over an open fireplace in the left room, and a moulded stone architrave around the fireplace in the right room. The interior also includes a full set of chamfered and stopped beams and joists.
