Description
No. 50 East St Helen Street is a building that likely dates from the 17th century. It is timber framed with a gable end facing the road and features a tile roof. The building has three storeys, with rough rendering and wooden beams. The upper two storeys overhang the ground floor. Each storey has one window: the upper storeys have casement windows with glazing bars set in a moulded wood frame, and the second storey has a small cornice. The first floor has a double hung sash window in a moulded wood frame with glazing bars, while the ground floor window is boarded up. There is a plain cottage door with a stone step, and both the ground floor and plinth are rendered. At the time of the survey, the building was derelict. No. 50 is part of a group that includes Nos. 2 to 60 (even).
