Description
New House Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse located in Longworth Southmoor. The building features roughcast over coursed limestone rubble at the rear, with smooth plastered quoins and window and door dressings. It has a stone slate roof and a brick stack. The farmhouse is designed in an L-plan with a two-unit front range and stands two storeys tall, presenting a two-window range. The late 19th-century central door is six-panelled and is situated under a flat hood supported by carved brackets. The windows are late 19th-century two-light casements, and there is a lunette in a blocked window above the door. The roof is hipped with a ridge stack, and similar windows are found on the one-bay side walls.
At the rear left, there is an early 18th-century one-storey and attic structure, which has a three-window range made of coursed limestone rubble, with roughcast to the left. This section features a half-hipped concrete tile roof and a brick ridge stack, with timber lintels over 20th-century casements. Adjoining the rear wall of the main range is a two-storey stair turret on the right. Additionally, there is a one-storey, one-bay roughcast extension that has a hipped stone slate roof and a 20th-century plank door at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
