Description
Green Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a corrugated iron roof and brick end stacks. The building is arranged in an L-shape on a sloping corner site and consists of one storey and an attic, featuring a three-window range.
The main facade facing Cox's Lane includes a small square window with a stone sill, jambs, and lintel, flanked by three-light casement windows with timber lintels, one of which has a stop-chamfered design. Above the small square window, there is a two-light half-dormer window. The left gable end features a plank door with a hood-mould to the left and a 12-pane sash window on the first floor. To the left of the door, there is a slightly lower wing that has a two-light 20th-century casement window and a three-light casement window with a timber lintel on the first floor. The gables are stone-coped with kneelers.
An attached barn to the left of the door has a datestone inscribed with "WE 1692" on its left gable end. Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered spine beams.
