Description

Town Pond Cottage is a house that was originally two cottages, dating from the late 17th century, with a 20th-century extension. The building is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and features a gabled thatch roof with stone end stacks, one of which has been moved to the ridge. It has a two-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a five-window range. There are timber lintels over a blocked door on the right and a 20th-century door on the left, along with 20th-century casement windows and half-dormer casements. A bread oven projects from the left bay of the front wall. The 20th-century extension is made of similar materials and is located to the right. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
