Description

Old Forge Cottages is a house dating largely to the 17th century, with modifications made in the 19th century. The timber-framed wall on the left gable features square and irregular framing, while the front is constructed of later uncoursed chalk and sarsen rubble, with brick to the rear. The roof is thatched, and it includes a brick stack. The house has a three-unit plan and a 1 1/2-storey design with a 4-window front. Timber lintels are above a 20th-century front door and casement windows, one of which obscures a door to the left. The interior remains uninspected.
