Description
Collins' Cottage is a house from the 18th century, constructed with chalk rubble that has been brought to course, featuring chalk quoins. The right gable wall is made of chalk and sarsen rubble with squared chalk bands, and it has a thatched roof with a brick stack. The building has a two-unit plan and is one and a half stories tall, with a two-window range. There is a 20th-century chalk and thatch porch, and timber lintels above a plank door and 20th-century casements. A brick storey band runs along the building, which has both a hipped and gabled roof with a stack at the right end. Inside, there are original plank doors with fittings, though the truss is obscured. At the rear, there is a contemporary lean-to on the left and a 20th-century lean-to on the right.
