Description

The Old Chapel Cottage and attached gates date from the late 18th century. The cottages are constructed of squared chalk, brought to course, with brick quoins and dressings. They have a tiled roof and brick stacks, arranged in a three-unit outshot plan. The building is two storeys high with a four-window range. Segmental brick arches feature over two six-panelled doors. There are leaded casements and two blind first-floor windows; the windows are secured with s-shaped iron ties. The roof is gabled, with end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage incorporates two original units: one to the left and two to the right. A single-storey wing from the mid-19th century is attached to the right. To the left, facing the road, are two cast-iron gates attached to a chalk rubble wall.
