Description
The barns located approximately 40 meters west of Parsonage Farmhouse are a group of two structures dating from the 17th century, early to mid-18th century, and late 18th to early 19th century. They feature weatherboarded timber framing set on a limestone rubble and brick plinth, topped with corrugated-asbestos roofs. The buildings have an L-shaped plan. The north range includes two bays from the 17th-century barn on the right and three bays from the late 18th to early 19th century on the left, with the central bay having opposed full-height doors. Attached to the right is a five-bay early to mid-18th-century barn, which also has central opposed full-height doors, along with some small windows and a stable door next to a lower bay against the gable wall. The right gable of the 17th-century range is half-hipped. Inside, the 17th-century range features three double queen-strut trusses and some heavy wall studs, while the early 18th-century range has curved inner principals. The late 18th-century range includes straight inner principals and ogee-carved jowls on the posts.
