Description

No. 43 Queens College is a small house located in Marsh Baldon, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble, with some timber framing and brick infill, topped by a thatched roof featuring brick gable stacks. The house has a two-unit plan and consists of one storey plus attics. The front facade includes a row of four segmental-arched openings, with the entrance located to the left of centre and the remaining openings being two-light casements. The gables and large chimney projections are notable features. There is a 20th-century outshut at the rear. The interior has not been inspected, but it is possibly an early 18th-century conversion of an earlier house into two cottages.
