Description

Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates back to the 17th century and was remodeled and extended in the 18th century. The building features timber framing that is encased in coursed clunch rubble, with some brick dressings, and has an old plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The layout is probably L-shaped and has been infilled.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a three-window road front. This front includes brick dressings and an ornamental eaves course. On the left side, there are pairs of segmental-arched windows with a datestone inscribed "WB/1764" positioned between the upper pair, along with a Sun Insurance plaque. To the extreme right, there are similar single windows on both floors. All windows are fitted with 2-light horizontal-sliding sashes. The roof is hipped to the right and returns to an irregular range, which features a pair of horizontal sliding sashes above a 19th-century bay window. The gable of the rear range shows evidence of the original timber framing. The rear wall, made of rubble, has stone-arched windows and contains the main entrance.

Inside, there is a large open fireplace, a first-floor fireplace with a 17th-century double-panelled overmantel, and much of the framing is exposed.
