Description
No. 56 Thame Road is an extension to a farmhouse, now functioning as a small house. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and features an early 17th-century stack. The building is constructed of coursed clunch rubble with brick dressings and has a plain-tile roof with rendered brick stacks. It has a single-unit plan with a rear outshut and stands two storeys tall. The front of the building has horizontal-sliding casements located to the left of centre on both the ground and first floors, with an entrance at the extreme left. To the right, aligned with the large stack shared with No. 54 (Western House), there is a section of early 17th-century rubble walling with narrow-brick quoins. The left gable wall also features similar sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
