Description

Northbourne War Memorial is made of rough-hewn Cornish granite and is located in the Garden of Rest at St Peter's Church. The memorial features a wheel-head cross atop a tapering shaft, which stands on a three-stepped square base.

The top tier of the base is inscribed with the words: "IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF." This inscription continues on the second tier, which reads: "THE MEN OF NORTHBOURNE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1919." The other faces of the memorial are inscribed with the names of the fallen.
