Description
Manor Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century, with an addition around 1670 and further alterations around 1770. The left side features roughcast on timber framing, while the right side is built of red brick with grey brick headers in Flemish bond. The roof is covered with old plain tiles and has brick ridge stacks located to the left of center and an end stack on the right. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two stories high with a three-window range. There is a 20th-century panelled door to the left of center, which is sheltered by a lean-to plain-tile hood supported by brackets. The windows include three-light leaded casements on the left and right, and a two-light leaded casement in the center, with additional two-light leaded casements on the first floor. A cross-gable is present on the left side. At the rear, there is timber framing with brick infill on the right, featuring a queen-post roof truss in the cross-gable. Inside, there is a datestone from 1670 above the fireplace on the ground floor to the left of center, and a blocked wood-mullioned window on the first floor to the left.
