Description

White Cottage is a house dating back to the 16th century, with a 20th-century extension to the left. The house has a cruck-framed construction, featuring a painted stone rubble plinth, cob walls with some timber framing, and a shingle hipped roof. A 20th-century brick chimney stack rises from the centre of the roof to the right.

The house is single-storey with an attic and has a four-window front. A plank door is located on the left return. There are two two-light leaded casement windows to the left and two three-light leaded casement windows to the right. Two swept dormers light the attic space.

Inside, two full cruck trusses are visible on the left side. The base of a full cruck truss is set into the front wall to the right, and another full cruck truss is found in the rear left cross-gable. An open fireplace is situated at the centre of the ground floor, and a blocked wood-mullioned window is located on the ground floor to the right.
