Description
Lychgate Cottage is a house dating from around 1700. It is constructed of coursed clunch rubble with brick dressings and features an old plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys plus attics high. The front has four windows and includes a stepped plinth, a storey band, and gauged flat arches. There are leaded cross windows on either side of the original doorway at ground floor level, which is now concealed by a built-up porch. The first floor has a single transom light. The right bay features a 20th-century porch and two-light leaded casements. There are stacks on the left gable and to the right of centre. The rear of the cottage includes additional casements and three three-light roof dormers. The interior has not been inspected.
