Description

Farriers Cottage is a house dating from the 16th or 17th century, featuring rendered timber framing and an old plain-tile roof with a brick stack. The building has a two-unit through-passage plan and stands two storeys high. The front has two windows, separated by a central passage entry that includes an old plank door. To the left of the passage, there are three-light small-pane horizontal-sliding sashes with panelled shutters at the ground floor. To the right, there is an eight-panel door combined with a three-light casement under a tiled canopy, and on the first floor, there is a two-light horizontal-sliding sash. A tall stack rises from the roof slope to the left of the passage. The interior has not been inspected, and it is possible that the building was originally two cottages.
