Description

Post Cottage is a cottage from the 18th century with 20th-century additions and alterations. It features large timber framing with brick infill, and brick on the right-hand return. The roof is covered in plain tiles, and there is a brick stack at the center of the ridge. The layout is likely a lobby entry plan, with the main front facing south. The ground floor has timber framing under a lean-to roof, which includes sloping 20th-century roof lights. The first floor also has timber framing. There is a 20th-century sash door on the left side, and a rear two-storey extension with a cross-gabled timber frame. The windows are irregularly placed and are all from the 20th century. The cottage occupies a prominent position, with its main front set at right angles to the street. It is included for its group value.
