Description
Greenoaks is a cottage dating back to the 17th century, with later additions from the 18th and 20th centuries. The original section is timber framed with brick infill, while later parts are built of painted and cement-rendered brick. The roof is tiled, and the chimney stacks have distinctive diagonal shafts. The building follows a lobby entry plan.
The cottage is one storey high with attics. The left-hand side features two timber-framed bays, rising to the eaves and incorporating short straight braces. There is a gabled two-light dormer window and a single window. The central bay is brick-built, with a dentilled eaves course, a gabled dormer, a four-light window, and a gabled porch. A single-storey, lean-to extension was added to the right in the 20th century. All windows are modern casements with lead lattice.
Inside, the cottage retains an inglenook fireplace, a timber-framed chimney breast, exposed floor beams and wall framing.
