Description

Nos. 16 and 18 on Cuxham Road are cottages that have been converted into a house. They date from the 17th century and were remodeled and extended by one bay to the left in the 18th century. The left bay is constructed of colourwashed flint rubble with brick dressings, the central bay features square timber framing with colourwashed brick infill, and the right bay is clad in colourwashed brick. The building has a gabled thatch and old tile roof, with brick ridge and end stacks. It has a three-unit plan, is one storey with an attic, and has a four-window range. There are segmental brick arches over blocked and 20th-century doors, as well as late 19th-century two-light leaded casements with a central 20th-century light to the left. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. There is also a two-storey wing from the 19th century to the left.
