Description
Querns Cottage is an 18th-century cottage with an attached barn, situated in Goring Heath. The cottage is constructed of flint with brick dressings and has a plain tile roof, featuring a brick stack at the rear. It is a single-storey building with an attic, and has a 3-window facade. A 20th-century sash door is positioned to the right of the centre, within a segmental-headed recess. A single-light window with a segmental head is located to the left of the centre, and there are three-light casements to the left and right, each with brick relieving arches. Three gabled dormers are visible. The interior has not been inspected.
Attached to the cottage is a barn, likely dating from the late 17th century. The barn has a flint base and timber framing with brick infill, covered by a thatched roof with a plain tile hipped midstrey in the centre. It is a 5-bay barn with a rear addition, and features plank doors centrally. The roof structure incorporates queen struts.
