Description

Bridge End Cottages are three cottages that were likely originally a single house, dating from the 17th century. They feature a rendered plinth and large timber framing with brick infill in the center. The left side is constructed of red brick, while the ground floor of the cross-wing on the right is made of coursed stone rubble with brick dressings. The gable end of the cross-wing is also red brick. The cottages have a thatched hipped roof with a half-hipped cross-gable on the right cross-wing, and there is a brick end stack on a stone base at the end of the cross-wing, along with a ridge stack to the left of center. The building has a 2-unit plan with a cross-wing to the right and is single storey with an attic. It features a 2-window range with the cross-wing on the right. There are plank doors to the left of center and at the end of the cross-wing. The center has a 3-light leaded casement, while the left has a 2-light leaded casement. There are two swept dormers, one with a 2-light leaded casement and the other with a 3-light leaded casement in the center. The rear and the right return of the cross-wing display timber framing. The interior has not been inspected.
