Description

Three houses, dating from the 18th century. They are built of colourwashed limestone rubble with some squared dressings, and have a concrete tile roof with brick stacks. The houses comprise a four-unit range, with single-unit cottages to the left. These two-storey cottages each have a door and a two-light casement window at ground floor level, and a further door to the extreme left, all set under brick segmental arches. There are also two-light small-pane casement windows at first floor level, with a central shared stack. The right-hand two-window front of No. 9 has flush banding and squared rubble dressings. The central door is flanked by wide two-light small-pane casements, all under segmental arches, with two gabled dormers above. A stack is situated to the right. The interiors have not been inspected. Nos. 5 and 7 were originally subsidiary buildings to No. 64 High Street and Nos. 1 and 3 Bell Lane, formerly The Bell Inn. Some or all of the houses may have been originally the rear ranges of No. 64 High Street and No. 1 Bell Lane, formerly The Bell Inn.
