Description
Forest Hill House is a vicarage that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 19th century, with a slightly earlier service wing. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar and coursed rubble, topped with a Welsh-slate roof featuring stone gable stacks. The layout is L-shaped, including the service range, and it has two storeys.
The front of the house is symmetrical with three windows and includes a plinth, a storey band, and a parapet cornice. The central doorway is flanked by columns and an entablature, containing a six-panel door with a rectangular overlight that has margin lights. The outer bays feature two-storey mid-19th century rectangular bay windows, while a 12-pane sash window remains above the door.
The garden front, which is to the right, has a total of four windows. To the left, it showcases the triangular-pedimented gable of the front range and includes two additional bays with 12-pane sashes. The service range, made of rubble, is located to the left of the main front and contains some 18th-century casements. The house is noted to have been finished around 1828.
