Description

HIGH STREET 1. 1485 (South Side) No 85 SP 5106 SE 9/417 12.1.54. II GV 2. House and modern shop. RCHM 62. Cl7-18 in origin but has been altered and the top floor is probably a later addition. 4-storeyed stuccoed timber-framed C18 front with cellars and attics. There is a modillioned eaves cornice, a hipped roof and brick stacks. The doorway has a moulded frame with a semi-circular keystoned head. The lst and 2nd floors have 2 Cl8 sash windows in moulded frames with paterae on the architraves; those windows on the lst floor have small iron balconies. The 3rd floor has 2 sash windows and above the cornice is the attic floor which has 1 modern double sash window. Interior RCHM p163 a. Includes an original staircase and original doorways.
