Description

The University Examination Schools, built between 1876 and 1878, were designed by Sir T G Jackson in the style of a Jacobean mansion. They are constructed from Clipsham stone, featuring a Stonesfield slate roof, with some Headington hardstone reused for the plinths. This building is notable for being the first use of Clipsham stone in Oxford. It has two storeys and is adorned with 5-light mullion and transom windows. The listed buildings on the south side form a group value context.
