2 Barns Approximately 700 Metres North East Of Hinley Farmhouse, Chesterton (Not Included)

These are two barns located approximately 700 meters northeast of Hinley Farmhouse in Chesterton, dating from 1760, with one possibly built slightly later. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble and feature wooden lintels, topped with corrugated-asbestos roofs. The barns have a four-bay layout arranged in a staggered alignment, connected by a small altered link. The dated barn includes full-height opposed doors, slits in other bays, and three slits along with a triangular apex vent on the north gable wall. The second barn has lower doors but is otherwise similar to the first. Inside, the barns feature a butt-purlin roof with through tenons, and the trusses include a tie beam, collar, and short raking struts.
