Description

The barn at Home Farm, located behind the farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone of varying sizes, indicating that it was built in more than one phase. The barn has a thin stone slate roof and features an L-shaped plan with an extension on the left gable end and a wing that projects forward on the right side. There are opposing double-width openings towards the left-hand end of the main body. The left wall of the projecting wing has a plank door with a keystone, and there is a blocked pitching door in the upper left. The barn also includes ventilation slits with small diamond-shaped vents and flat coping at the gable ends. Inside, the barn consists of four bays and has two original trusses with collars and tie beams.
