Description
Lodge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to late 18th century. It is built of limestone rubble with wooden lintels and has a plain-tile roof with rebuilt brick stacks. The building features a two-unit central-stair plan that extends to an L-plan and has two storeys. The front has three bays on the left side, which are earlier and contain two-light leaded casements along with a central doorway. An added bay includes another doorway and a casement on each floor, with the lower window having been renewed. The roof has stacks positioned to the right of each section. A rear wing, which has wooden casements, extends from the right gable wall that displays a "County" insurance plaque. The rear of the main range has additional casements, some of which still have leaded glazing. Inside, there are large chimney breasts in both sections along with a blocked oven and stop-chamfered beams. The farmhouse was formerly known as Bucknell Lodge.
