Description
Wretchwick Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century and late 18th to early 19th century. It is built of limestone rubble with brick dressings and some wooden lintels, topped with an old plain-tile roof featuring brick gable stacks. The building has an L-plan and consists of two storeys plus an attic. The front has five windows and was originally symmetrical, featuring a brick storey band. It retains brick jambs for the six-pane sashes on the first floor, except for the window on the extreme right, which has a wider tripartite sash. On the ground floor, there is evidence of four original windows with brick flat arches, but currently, there are two large tripartite sashes with wooden lintels flanking a central 20th-century porch. The roof includes three gabled roof dormers with leaded casements. There is an outshut against the right gable wall that has a round window. A later rear wing extends from the left end and is in a similar style. The interior has not been inspected.
