Description

Clay Bank is a house dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a 20th-century tile roof and stone copings. The house features ironstone quoins and two brick end stacks. Originally comprising two units, it has a single storey with an attic. The ground floor has two three-light casement windows, while the attic has two more. A two-light stone mullioned window is located in the right gable end. A 20th-century porch provides access to a single-storey extension on the left side of the house. The original ground floor rooms retain stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
