Description
This canal bridge, located approximately 500 meters north of Allen's Lock, was likely built around 1790. It is constructed of brick with some marlstone dressings. The bridge features a wide segmental arch that rises from a wedge-shaped stone imposte, topped with a projecting course that forms a hood. Solid parapets extend over the arch and curve outward to square brick piers. The south face of the bridge has a cast-iron plaque inscribed with the number "202," while the north face displays an earlier inset stone plaque inscribed with the number "157."
