UPPER HEYFORD OXFORD CANAL SP42NE 2/151 Bridge approx. 500m N of Allen's Lock (not included) - II

Canal bridge. Probably c. 1790. Brick with some marlstone dressings. Wide segmental arch rises from wedge-shaped stone imposte and has a projecting course forming a hood. Solid parapets rise over the arch and curve outwards to square brick piers. South face has a cast-iron plaque inscribed "202"; north face has an earlier inset stone plaque inscribed "157".
