BANBURY BLOXHAM ROAD SP43NW (West side) Wykham 3/4 Wykham Mill Farmhouse and 08/07/75 attached shop GV II

Farmhouse, now house. Early C17 with later additions. Ashlar ironstone. Steeply pitched slate roof. Brick end stacks on rendered stone bases. Wing to left has stone end stack. Store copings with kneelers. Ironstone quoins. Plinth. L-plan. 2 storeys plus attic. 3-window range. Central entrance has moulded wooden jambs, panelled door and overlight with geometrical pattern. Doorway is flanked by two 3-light wood-mullioned windows with wood lintels. 3 windows to first floor including two 3-light casements and a small fixed light. All windows have wood lintels. 2 hipped roof dormers with opening casements. 2 entrances to left wing including one to bookshop. Rear: 2 canted bay windows with hipped, tiled roofs, a 3-light wood-mullioned window and renewed casements. Mostly original wood lintels, some stop-chamfered. Hipped roof dormer. Interior: stone flag floors; plank or panelled doors with wrought-iron hinges; stop-chamfered beams and chamfered joists; inglenooks with chamfered bressumers; left wing has fireplace with stop chamfered beam and bread oven and wooden winder stair.
