Description
No. 5 Boxhedge Road is a house that likely dates back to the 17th century but was refronted in the 19th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a tile roof with brick end stacks, one of which is positioned on a stone base to the left. The building stands three storeys high and has a two-window range.
Access to the central entrance is via stone steps. The doorway has panelled reveals and a four-panelled door with an overlight, framed by stepped keystoned voussoirs. On either side of the doorway are sash windows, also with stepped, keystoned voussoirs. The first and second floors have similar windows. A moulded stone plinth runs along the base of the house.
To the right, there is a single-storey extension made of ironstone rubble, which has a steeply pitched slate roof, stone coping with a moulded kneeler, and a brick end stack. This extension features a 20th-century window. The interior has not been inspected.
