Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the early to mid 18th century, possibly incorporating earlier elements, and extended in the mid 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and has Stonesfield-slate roofs with ashlar and brick stacks. The building is L-shaped, with two storeys plus an attic.

The right three bays of the five-window front are from the 19th century and feature sash windows on the first floor, a central stone porch, a canted bay window, and a French window with an ornamental overlight. A storey band continues from the earlier section, which has casement windows with two and one lights, featuring keyblock flat arches on both floors. The left gable stack has an ashlar base. The left gable wall leads to a contemporary two-window rear wing that has similar two-light windows and a doorway facing left. At the rear of the 19th-century wing is a turret with a pyramid roof. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to contain some reused early 17th-century panelling. The farmhouse is located adjacent to a moated site.
