Description

This icehouse, located approximately 150 meters northeast of Wroxton College, dates back to the early 18th century and was restored in 1980. It is likely designed by Tilleman Bobart. The structure is made of ironstone ashlar and is covered by a mound of soil. It features an entrance passage that leads down steps into the icehouse. The icehouse measures 15 feet from the eye to the top of the soakaway, with an additional 4 feet 6 inches to the earth base, and has a circumference of approximately 11 feet.
