Description

This is a range of a barn and an integral cottage, along with a thatched barn, located to the south and west of Bazeley's Farmhouse. The buildings date from the late 17th century and are constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with a steeply pitched tile roof. The cottage, which is a single unit on the left, has two storeys and a single-window range. It features 2-light wood casement windows on both the ground and first floors, each with chamfered wood lintels. The entrance to the cottage is located on the left gable end and has a wooden door frame, with a stone-coped gable on the left side. Inside, there is a brick fireplace and space for a copper.

The barn, which is two bays in size, has a purlin roof supported by tie beams, collars, and renewed common rafters. Adjacent to this is the thatched barn, dating from the early 18th century, also built of coursed ironstone rubble and topped with a steeply pitched thatched roof. This barn consists of five bays and features a wide threshing floor entrance in the third bay from the left, along with plank doors that have wooden lintels. The rear doors are equipped with a securing pole and cratch boards, and the interior has a stone flag floor. The roof is constructed with principal rafters, collars, tie beams, common rafters, and stays.
