Description

This is a row of three cottages located in Cropredy, dating from the early 18th century. They are constructed of squared coursed ironstone and have steeply pitched thatched roofs with brick ridge and end stacks. Each cottage comprises two units. The overall facade features four windows and three entrances. Two of the entrances have 20th-century porches. The cottage on the right has a plank door with a wooden lintel and hood. Ground floor windows consist of two-light wood mullioned and transomed windows, along with two- and three-light metal casements set within wooden frames, all with wooden lintels. First-floor windows are two- and three-light metal or wood casements with lead cames, stop-chamfered wood lintels, crown glass, and wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs. The interiors of the cottages were not inspected. (Group Value: Oxfordshire Volume X, page 161)
