Description
The Mount is a house located on the east side of High Street in Adderbury, likely dating from the 17th century and altered in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels and features a Welsh-slate roof with brick gable stacks. The house has a two-unit plan with a rear wing and is one storey plus an attic, raised to two storeys. The front has three windows, with a central plank door and overlight flanked by two large three-light casements, and to the extreme left, there is a small two-light casement. The first floor includes casements with two, two, and three lights, with the central window featuring an early frame with a splayed mullion. The steep-pitched roof has been raised at the eaves and is adorned with 19 stacks that have large corbelled caps. The interior has not been inspected.
