Description
The Bell Inn is a public house located on the east side of High Street in Adderbury. It likely dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed squared marlstone and features wooden lintels, topped with a concrete plain-tile roof and brick stacks. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall.
The front of the building has three windows; on the first floor, there are 18th-century casements with two, three, and three lights. The ground floor features two larger three-light casements, a 20th-century casement on the extreme left, and an entrance to the left of the third bay. The steep-pitched roof has stacks located to the left and right of the third bay. There is a 20th-century range at the rear, which is not considered of special architectural interest. Inside, the inn has chamfered beams and an open fireplace. The building is included for its group value.
